Location: 137 Chase Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871 at the former Cox Cable building conveniently located next to the Portsmouth Post Office.
Operating Hours: Wednesdays and Fridays between 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM for food pick-up and donations.
To Contact Us: Call 401-683-3674 (or email aquidneckfoodpantry@gmail.com). Leave a message if you have a question or a special request, need other assistance or if someone other than yourself needs to pick up food. We will return your call within 24 hours.
To Pick Up Food: Enter the marked lane at the Food Pantry. A volunteer will come out to your car to assist you. Please do not park or get out of your vehicle. We may ask for some type of identification, but the Food Pantry is available to ALL in need and is NOT restricted to Portsmouth residents.
To Donate Food: Non-perishable, non-expired food items can be dropped off anytime between 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays. Bring your donation to the lodge parking lot, follow the signs and a volunteer will come out to your car to receive it. Please do not park or exit your vehicle.
Items needed include cereal, pancake mix, syrup, pasta, mac & cheese, peanut butter, jelly, shelf stable milk, baked beans, canned fruit and vegetables, pasta sauce, canned pasta, canned vegetables, canned tuna or chicken, crackers, rice, canned soups, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and similar items.
Gift Cards to area markets are also gratefully accepted and used primarily to purchase items needed for the Food Pantry supply. They will be selectively distributed and not included in Food Pantry packages.
To Make a Monetary Donation: Checks payable to “Aquidneck Food Pantry” can be hand-delivered to the Food Pantry or mailed to Aquidneck Food Pantry, 137 Chase Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871. Online donations may be made at www.Aquidneckfoodpantry.org using credit cards, debit cards or PayPal.
MISSION: Our mission is to help needy individuals and families in our community by providing nourishing food in a welcoming environment and by educating local businesses, organizations, and the general public about the often-unseen problem of food insecurity in Portsmouth and the surrounding area.
